ackerman

From Adele to Styx to Pavarotti, David Ackerman masterfully
weaves together rock, pop and classical songs for an
unforgettable experience.  Ackerman has thrilled a multitude
of audiences with his versatile performances.  Classically
trained at Indiana University, Ackerman founded the Christian
rock band, Beracah, while in grad school.  He eventually
branched-out on his own, presenting solo performances and
concerts.

Performing a bold blend of the contemporary and the
classical, Ackerman excels in singing a variety of music, from
Josh Groban to Goo Goo Dolls to U2 to Andrea Bocelli.  For
special music in Christian settings, Ackerman performs
original songs, hymns and covers of MercyMe, Casting
Crowns and Third Day.  Concerts in Christian settings are a
mix of quality Christian and secular music, enjoyed by all
concert-goers, regardless of beliefs or backgrounds.  Solo or
full-band, Ackerman draws the audience closer when
performing in intimate settings, while his voice and presence
fill the arena in larger venues.  Likened to Dennis DeYoung
and Luciano Pavarotti, Ackerman provides excellence in
entertainment, performed with a crystalline tenor voice.

Beyond his impressive vocal gift, Ackerman’s story is
compelling as well.  He was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkins
Lymphoma after doctors discovered a softball-sized tumor in
his chest.  Ackerman endured nine months of arduous tests,
chemotherapy and radiation treatments before going into
remission.  He triumphantly re-entered the music world,
presenting a Remission Benefit Concert at the Christel
DeHaan Fine Arts Center, with proceeds benefiting the
Leukemia-Lymphoma Society.  Ackerman is grateful to God
for bringing him through that time with such unsurpassing
peace.  He is also thankful for the gift of healing.  Strong,
healthy and cured, Ackerman strives to live to the fullest and
share his gift of music with others.
